The NZDO rehearsed and performed at The Piano, Christchurch, from Friday 9 June to Sunday 11 June 2017, with Mark Hodgkinson as our conductor. There were 48 players
The programme included:

• Rossini: Overture: The Italian Girl in Algiers
• Mozart: Concerto for flute and harp (with soloists Duncan Watts and Vanessa Souter)
• ​Beethoven: Symphony No.8
• Dvořák: Czech Suite (final movement)

We are grateful for sponsorship for student travel from the University of Otago division of humanities performing arts fund, and division of health sciences; and from the University of Auckland. MAS provided sponsorship for dinner for the students
Revenue from ticket sales was $6,894.90 and this was donated to Nurse Maude Hospice
