NZDO selection process
Players are selected by the conductor, on the basis of the information provided on the enrolment form. Our selection policy aims to foster both high quality and inclusiveness within the orchestra. Let us know if you would like to be on our mailing list.
We are keen to feature players from within our ranks to solo in a concerto in future years. If you’d like to be considered as a soloist, or know someone who would be suitable, let us know. We’d like potential soloists to prepare a recording of a movement of their preferred concerto (with piano accompaniment) and we’ll ask the conductor to choose a soloist (and item) that would suit. The deadline for submitting a recording is 31 October of each year, but if you’re considering submitting a recording, please let us know before then.
