2013

The NZDO rehearsed and performed at the Nelson School of Music from Friday 21 June to Sunday 23 June 2013, with Mark Hodgkinson as our conductor. There were 74 players

The programme included
  • Britten: King Arthur suite (movements 1 & 3)
  • Sibelius: violin concerto (first movement) with David Choi, an Auckland house surgeon, as soloist.
  • Saint-Saëns: Organ Symphony (with Jonathan Christiansen, an Auckland cardiologist and organist).

We are grateful for sponsorship for student travel from the University of Otago division of humanities performing arts fund, and division of health sciences. MAS provided sponsorship for dinner for the students

Revenue from ticket sales was $6,658 and this was donated to the Nelson Tasman Hospice.
